MARCY, N.Y. – After trailing by a one-goal margin late in the second quarter, the Hilbert College men's lacrosse team gave up six unanswered scores by the start of the fourth period as they slipped in an 11-6 non-conference loss at SUNY Poly tonight.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Daniel Flynn and Jack Raymond shared team-high honors with two goals each while Raymond led the Hawks with three points.
- Hilbert was credited with three assists on the Hawks six goals but went 0-for-6 on man up opportunities.
- Griffin Miller made 19 saves in the non-conference contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats went up 1-0 at 12:56 in the first quarter, but Hilbert rallied and built a 2-1 lead after Raymond (unassisted) and Brandon Bitka (Zach Blount) lifted the Hawks for the first time in the game. Poly responded with four consecutive goals, two to close the first quarter and then two more at the start of the second session to go up 5-2.
- Raymond (Blount) and Flynn (Raymond) pulled the Hawks within one score (4-5) yet the hosts responded with another hit before half time, taking a 6-4 advantage to the break.
- SUNY Poly tacked on five unanswered scores, four in the third quarter and one more at the start of the fourth period, establishing a seven-goal margin with 11:39 left in the game.
- Flynn and Joey DiMaria tacked two more on for Hilbert before the final horn.
GAME NOTES
- The Hawks came out flat after intermission as the Wildcats pulled away in the third quarter, not only on the score board (4-0), but in shots (13-6) and converted on two of three man-up opportunities as well as finishing with only two turnovers in the fifteen minute period.
- Zach Blount filled the stat sheet, finishing with two assists, four ground balls, one caused turnover and took all of Hilbert's face offs, winning 7 of 19, and Joseph Gorman added two more caused turnovers to his career total.

Hilbert returns home this weekend when they host Morrisville State (8-2, 4-0 UEC) at St. Francis High School on Saturday, April 23 in another United East Conference contest that begins at 2pm.
