KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Hilbert College softball team secured their first victory of the season in the 3pm tilt against Keuka College today. The Hawks then followed with a nightcap road win, earning the program's first series sweep over the Wolves.
Victoria Grayson went 5 for 7, scored three runs, was credited with 4 RBIs and
Bailey Budziszewski added three doubles in four hits, as well as 4 RBIs.

GAME ONE
- Hilbert scored two runs right out of the gate in the 1st inning and tacked another one on in the third.
- Kaitlyn Barone singled and came home off Grayson's single to left field. Budziszewski double to left and plated Grayson to start the game. Barone started the third off with another single and made it home again off a groundout to pitcher.
- But the Hawks put the game out of reach after manufacturing seven runs in the fourth inning, building a 10-0 lead. Hilbert earned five hits before Budziszewski poked her second double of the game which set the seven-run inning.
- Both teams strung together hits, scoring three runs at the top and bottom of the fifth, but with a 13-3 lead, the Hawks won their first game of the season via the 8-run rule.
- Victoria Grayson went 4-for-4, with a triple, scored twice and knocked in three runs while Emma McNamara, who earned one hit, a double, led the Hawks with 4 RBI. Bailey Budziszewski also pushed in three runs off her two doubles.
- Rebecca Marmorato struck out five, walked three off five hits in her first win of the season.
GAME TWO
- After three scoreless innings, Hilbert finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the 4th. McNamara singled but moved to second due to obstruction. She advanced to the corner on a passed ball and sprinted home of Grayson's single to left field. Budziszewski followed with a double to left field and plated Grayson then Avery Cusack doubled to center and pushed Budziszewski and Lily Zimmerman home for the final scores of the day.
- McNamara, Cusack and Budziszewski kept the offense rolling hitting doubles in the nightcap.
- Hannah Coken went seven innings, struck out two and gave up eight hits in her first shut-out win of her collegiate career.
UP NEXT
The Hawks softball team is scheduled to host their second AMCC double header this weekend. Pitt-Greensburg is set to come to town for the April 16 contest.
