NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Hilbert Softball team prepared for a pair of back-to-back games this afternoon beginning at 1:30 pm. The Hawks waited through multiple weather-related game delays and completed only one of the two scheduled games.

GAME ONE
- The Hawks built a 5-2 lead through five innings before they surrendered five runs to the Lions in the bottom of the 6th. Hilbert tacked one final score in the seventh inning but fell short of the comeback win.
- The Hawks earned eight hits, 4 RBIs and left five on base.
- Victoria Grayson and Emma McNamara led with two hits and one RBI and one stolen base each. Grayson connected twice with doubles and McNamara earned a double bagger, a triple, scored three runs.
- Makenna Smith pushed two runs home while scoring one herself.
- Rebecca Marmorato (0-2) went the distance today, struck out eight, walked six with seven earned runs.
- McNamara scored on a passed ball for the game's opening run in the 1st.
- The Lions jumped ahead, 2-1 in the 4th briefly before Hilbert responded with four runs in the 5th. Smith's infield single scored two runs, McNamara's double scored Smith and Grayson's double plated McNamara.
- Penn State manufactured five runs in the 6th and took a 7-5 lead but McNamara stole home at the top of the seventh for the game's final run.
