ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Hilbert College men's volleyball team dropped a three-set non-conference loss at Elmira College tonight.

GAME NOTES

• The Hawks collected 11 kills (-.102), seven service aces, 14 digs and six blocks while the Soaring Eagles finished with 36 kills (.400), 12 service aces, 26 digs and six blocks.
• Brad Converse led Hilbert with six kills, and shared a team-best four digs with Luis Retamar.  Austin Chandler was credited with all 11 assists and two solo blocks while Ryan Levcik earned three service aces.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hilbert opened with a four-point run at the start of the first set before the Soaring Eagles jumped ahead 9-8.  The hosts pulled away after going on a 9-1 sprint taking an 18-10 lead and rolled to a 25-16 win.
• Elmira built a 9-1 lead before the Hawks pulled within three points (11-8). Converse was credited with two service aces in that seven point run.  Hilbert hung around through an 18-14 margin before Elmira scored the final three points from the service line, 25-14.
• The third set was close early, with Converse (2) and Diello earning kills which pulled Hilbert within one point (5-4).  The Soaring Eagles strung together six points before the Hawks called a timeout trailing 12-4.  Elmira built a 20-10 advantage and secured the 25-11 victory from the service line.
