HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Hilbert Women's Soccer team faced off today against the Buffalo State Bengals and lost by a score of 2-1.

Buffalo State took an early lead that they held on to until the end of the first half. They eventually would regain the lead and win the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bengals caught a lucky break only 15 minutes into the game with Hilbert scoring an own goal to give Buffalo State a 1-0 lead.
• Grace Zabawa opened the scoring for Hilbert in the 44th minute with a goal off her left foot into the bottom right corner tying the game just before half.
• Buffalo State would continue to press though and eventually would take the lead in the second half and held on until the very end.

GAME NOTES

• Overall the game was very close with both teams recording 11 shots but the Hawks did lead in corner kicks 5-4.
• Tahlia Kosek recorded three saves throughout the first half and Hailey Kuder came on in the second half and recorded two saves.

Next on the schedule for the Women's Soccer team is an AMCC clash with Penn State Altoona. This will be their first meeting of the year. It is at home on Hawk Field at 3:15 on October 8th.
