HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert Hawks football team took on Lincoln who is a Division II school who traveled all the way from California to face off at St. Francis high school.
Lincoln brought their A game today beating the new program by a score of 70-0. This, the final home game of the Hawks inaugural season was played on a chilly Friday night.
The Hawks battled hard from start to finish tonight. You could tell that each and everyone of them left out all on the field for the hundreds of fans that showed up for their final home game. There were many bright spots on the Hawks team.
Taivaughn Roach seemed to be all over the field along with
Clifford Zeigler who both recorded 11 tackles. Roach also had 2 tackles for loss on the night.
Deondre Rice led the Hawks tonight with 43 total yards. Hilbert used three quarterbacks throughout the contest including
Nicholas Rinker,
Jeremiah Caviness and
Brody Hopkins.
Lincoln came out strong scoring quickly and did not look back. Led by quarterback Rhett Reilly who went 4 for 10 for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns. The best performance of the day on offense was Elijah Holmes who carried the ball 12 times for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns.
