HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hilbert got on the board 3 minutes into the first with a good jumper by Ashley Schroeder.
  • Grace Zabawa kept the scoring alive by getting a good layup in the paint and providing some steam for the Hawks.
  • Mckenzie Walker got in the game with a good jumper assisted by Grace Zabawa to bring the Hawks within four halfway through the first.
  • Macy Kisner continued to push the ball with a textbook layup in the paint with a threaded pass from Alesia Hamm
  • Hilbert crawled back at 2:31 left in the first quarter with a jumper in the paint from Schroeder to bring Hilbert in the lead 12-11.
  • Grace Zabawa hit a good jumper in an attempt to seal the lead for the quarter 14-11 but Pitt.-Greensburg called a timeout and pushed the ball to come up by one to end the first quarter in the lead 15-14.
  • Starting the second quarter, Macy Kisner stole the ball twice, once in Pitt.-Greenburg's back court and capped it with a fast break layup, and another steal with a long pass down the floor to Grace Zabawa to fire up the Hawks to take the lead again.
  • Macy Kisner grabbed another one of her four steals and was then fouled by the Bobcats, sending her to the charity line to pick up a point for the Hawks to continue to keep the lead alive.
  • Unfortunately, the Hawks didn't take advantage of the free throw attempts near the end of the second half, allowing the Bobcats to regain the lead heading into half 27-25.
  • Both teams came roaring out of the locker room for the third quarter with high intensity pressing and loose balls flying around the court.
  • Ashley Schroeder hit a good bucket in the past to tie the game at 27 only 90 seconds into the third quarter.
  • The Bobcats begin to shoot their shots and grabbed anything that came down for offensive rebounds, putting them back up for 15 total second chance points.

  • The Bobcats dominated the offensive boards in the third quarter, putting the ball right back up for a 13-6 scoring advantage.
  • Pitt.-Greensburg scored back to back 3-pointers to start off the fourth, the second basket in a fast transition, hitting a 22 footer in transition deflating the Hawks momentum and giving the Bobcats a 13 point lead only 90 seconds into the fourth.
  • The Hawks were unable to keep their energy flowing after an 11 point scoring run by the Bobcats   with only six minutes left.
  • The largest lead by Pitt.-Greensburg was at 2:50 by 23 points, but the Hawks continued to plug along cutting the lead ultimately to 20. The fourth quarter proved to be wholly detrimental, with a 24-13 scoring decision in favor of the Bobcats.
  • The Bobcats pulled away steadily and finalized the win with a slow, quiet end to the game.
