HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team didn't back down from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason favorites tonight when they hosted Penn State Behrend in the Hafner Recreation Center. The Hawks hung around at times in each set, but the Lions from Erie swept Hilbert in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Penn State Behrend manufactured a 7-point lead in the opening set fueled by service aces and offensive kills. Kayleigh Chudoba's kill ended the eighth rally and put Hilbert on the scoreboard. Hilbert earned five more points the rest of the set highlighted by Katie Kociszewski's solo block which she followed with a block assist with Casandra Thompson.
- The Hawks jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second set thanks to Lion errors. Abigail Elisofon and Jessica Cruz-Jackson were credited with back-to-back kills which maintained the back and forth scoring action (7-7). The Lions then went on a 10-1 run and pulled away for the 25-13 win.
- Ashley Page (service ace), Cruz-Jackson (kill), and Maria Spinelli (kill) were the Hilbert-earned points in the final set of the match.
GAME NOTES
- Hilbert collected eight kills, two service aces, one solo block, one block assist and 21 digs compared to Behrend's 32 kills, 14 services aces, one block assist and 23 digs.
- Cruz-Jackson and Kociszewski led with two kills each, Page and Elisofon (six digs) shared setting duties and each passed for three assists while Chudoba led with seven digs.
