HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team lost the battle in the air, as the Redhawks from La Roche University swooped in for a straight-set Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- La Roche stormed out to a 15-3 lead and made it a 21-5 contest before Hilbert responded with a 5-point run but lost 25-10.
- Hilbert hung around the entire second set, twice edging the Redhawks on the score board. With the score 16-14 in favor of Hilbert, La Roche strung together a 7-point run to pull away in the 25-19 win.
- The red and white opened the third set with a 7-0 lead before Jessica Cruz-Jackson earned a kill for Hilbert. The Hawks inched their way back and trailed 13-11 midway through the set. La Roche combined five of their earned points with a pair of Hilbert hitting errors to build a 20-11 advantage which ended in the 25-15 win.
GAME NOTES
- Hilbert earned 10 kills, one service ace, two blocks and 31 digs compared to La Roche's 33 kills, 12 services aces, 1 block and 39 digs.
- Three Hawks led with two kills each as Cruz-Jackson (2 kills), led with eight digs and a block assist.
UP NEXT
Hilbert returns to AMCC action this Tuesday when they host their third game in a row. The Hawks will host preseason favorites Penn State Behrend at 7pm September 28.
