GREENSBURG, Pa. - Hilbert concluded their AMCC schedule this afternoon with their second 3-day series in back-to-back weekends.
The Hawks, worn thin after competing all eight conference double headers in a ten-day stretch, lost both games to the Bobcats today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
- Hilbert was down 2-0 by the time they batted in the bottom of the 1st inning. Â Lily Zimmerman's single knocked in Basile to pull the Hawks within one run.
- Hilbert found themselves down 5-1 by the time they picked up their bats again but they didn't make any moves and headed out to the field to play defense.
- Barone forced two outs in the field and Victoria Grayson picked off a runner at second base to end the inning.
- Budziszewski hits her first home run as the inning's lead-off batter and sliced the margin to 5-2 in the 3rd.
- The Hawks picked off a runner at third base to end the 4th inning but surrendered another run and then went three up, three down while on offense.
- The Bobcats responded with a 2-run home run in the 5th which stretched the difference to six runs and then they tacked three more runs on in the top of the 7th and took an 11-2 lead.
- After McNamara and Grayson each single to start the 7th, Budziszewski reached over the left field fence with a 3-run homer and set the 11-5 final score.
- McNamara and Barone each earned two hits in the early game.
- Barone tossed her first complete game and struck out two, walked one and surrendered 17 hits and 10 earned runs.
GAME 2:
- McNamara and Zimmerman went 2 for 3 each as the Hawks earned seven hits in the night cap.
- Rebecca Mormarato gave up six earned runs in defeat after carrying the Hawks throughout 6.1 innings.
- The Hawks got on the board off a Budziszewski single in the bottom of the 1st inning and took a 1-0 lead early.
- The Bobcats responded with two runs at the top of the 2nd and the score stayed that way until the top of the 6th when a Greensburg sac fly and a Hilbert error gave the host a pair of runs and the 4-1 lead. Â
- The Bobcats loaded the bases in the top of the 7th, forced a pitcher change and then tacked on three more runs for the win.
UP NEXTÂ
- The No. 9 Hawks will travel to No. 8 Alfred State Pioneers this Thursday, May 6th and the winner of the play-in game will move to the next round in the AMCC post-season tournament. Â
- The victor will face No. 1 seed Penn State Behrend.
