MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Hilbert College men's lacrosse team returned to live action this afternoon when they traveled to Morrisville State for their first game since April 3.
The Hawks were competitive in the first quarter before they suffered a 21-4 loss to the NEAC-league leaders.Â

HIGHLIGHTS
- Covid-junior Ryan Spath led with three points fueled by two goals in the first quarter. Â Â Covid-sophomores Liam Doyle and Brandon Bitka each netted once with Doyle adding an assist.
- Freshman Brandon Moore collected 16 saves through 60 minutes in his first collegiate start.
- Bitka and Covid-sophomore Chance Gunderman led with three ground balls each while Gunderman was credited with a team-high three caused turnovers.
- HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bitka struck the game's first goal at 11:34. Â His unassisted hit started the back-and-forth scoring spree which settled the score 4-4 after fifteen minutes.
- Spath scored his unassisted goal at 9:42 and then assisted on Doyle's marker at 5:42.
- Hilbert's final tally in the game (3:01) was off a Doyle-to-Spath man-up goal setting the 4-3 advantage towards the Hawks.
- Morrisville then evened the first quarter at 4-4 before going on a 17-0 run to close the game.
GAME NOTES
- The Mustanges doubled Hilbert's offensive production, edging the Hawks 57-23 in shots (37-13 on-goal) and won the game on the ground with a 46-18 advantage in ground balls.
- The Hawks won four of 28 face-offs but went 1-for-3 in extra man opportunities. Â The Hawks held the Mustangs in extra man opportunties, limiting them to 4-of-16.
