HAMBURG, N.Y. – After a 10-day pause in training, the Hilbert College men's lacrosse team hosted Penn College in their final regular season game of 2021.
 
Before the action on the field began, the men's program recognized the four seniors who gave their all to the program these last four years.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Anthony Cappola, Spencer Kennedy, Ryan Spath and Ryan Zunner were honored on the field by their teammates before the first face off.
• Ryan Spath tallied two points fueled by one goal and an assist.
• Brandon Bitka and Jared Wojtaszczyk added Hilbert's two other scores and Donovan Dilbert was credited with an assist in the game.
• Spencer Kennedy (1-1) made 15 saves in his first complete collegiate game in frame.

GAME NOTES

• The Wildcats held a 5-0 advantage before Spath scored his eighth goal of the season with 1:35 left in the first quarter.
• Wojtaszczyk found the back of the net at 8:08 in the second session and Bitka's shot beat Penn's goalie with 13:13 left in the third quarter.
• Penn dominated the field by building a 47-29 advantage in shots, (32-16 on-goal), by winning 16 of 27 face-offs and rushing for a 51-37 advantage in ground balls.
• The Hawks gave the Wildcats six man-up scoring opportunities and they converted on four of them.
• The Wildcats, who, with one league loss, trail undefeated Morrisville (4-0) heading into post-season play.   They took an 8-2 lead into half time and extended the margin to 14-3 by the start of the 4th quarter.
