KENMORE, N.Y. – After competing in a day-long conference pod yesterday, the Hilbert College women's bowling team battled at the Medaille Invite this afternoon.

The Hawks suffered three straight setbacks against Medaille, Penn State Behrend and Mercyhurst University and fell to 6-10 overall.

Freshman Ashley Dixon and junior Victoria Kurdziel were competing against each other for top bowler on the team with a 163 average but only one pin separated them in the final pin fall. 

Dixon knocked down 490 total pins and Kurdziel was right behind with 489.   Freshman Ashley Forbes averaged 140 for the three matches.  Joining freshman Mattison Arnett (128.7 ave.) was first-time bowler Amber Stuck and they completed the scoring for the Hawks.   

How the Match Progressed

• #1 Medaille took it to Hilbert for the second day in a row and earned a 905-680 victory.  Dixon was Hilbert's high roller with a 167 game.
• Penn State Behrend rebounded for their AMCC loss to Hilbert yesterday and rallied for a 736-667 win.  Kurdziel led with a 161 game.
• Mercyhurst University earned a 792-690 victory which closed the day for the Hawks.

Hilbert has only one day off from competition.  The Hawks are set to host Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday, March 9 back at Classic Lanes.  This rescheduled match (from earlier in the season) will complete Hilbert's 2021 Bowling schedule.  Fans can view the game via Boxcast video.
