ERIE, Pa. – The Hilbert College women's bowling team opened the 2021 season at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Round Robin on Saturday at Eastland Bowl in Erie, PA.
The Hawks (1-2) took on Medaille, Penn State Behrend and St. Vincent College in total pinfall baker matches and picked-up the program's first-ever victory over St. Vincent College.
Medaille (2-1) finished the day knocking over 2588 total pins. St. Vincent College (2-1, with win over Medaille) pushed over 2441 pins, ahead of Hilbert (2204) and Penn State Behrend (2103)
How the Day Progressed
- Hilbert suffered a 837-734 loss to Medaille to start the day. The Hawks did win the third game (156-149) and was close in the fourth (149-152).
- The Hawks then went 2-3 against Penn State Behrend, winning the second and third games, before they dropped a 716-665 defeat.
- Hilbert capped the day off with an 805-711 victory over St. Vincent College. The Hawks tossed a day-high 206 in the fifth game, won four of five and claimed their largest-margin win in program history.
