HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College Women's volleyball team came on strong in the third set but slipped to Medaille College in AMCC play tonight.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
 

• After playing even early, the Mavericks strung points together from attacks at the net the service line deep on the court as they posted a 25-8 win.
• The Hawks hung around in the second set, staying within arm's reach until the 14-11 score.  Medaille posted a series of kills and service aces to pull away in a 25-13 win.
• And Hilbert was all business in the third set, building a two-point advantage midway through the game.  The momentum shifted in the Hawks' favor as the Mavs gave Hilbert six straight points and the 13-11 lead. The hosts then earned four of their next five points, regained control in the set (16-13) and rolled to a 25-15 final set win.

GAME NOTES

• The Hawks collected 10 kills, one service aces and one block assist en route to earning 36 points in the three-game match.
• The Mavs posted 35 kills and 16 service aces while matching the Hawks at the net with a block assist and one solo block.
• Katie Kociszewski led the Hilbert charge with four kills while Casandra Thompson and Abigail Elisofon (one service ace) added two each.
• Ashley Page quarterbacked the team with five assists and led with six digs.
