ALFRED, N.Y. – #2 Alfred State College earned a 3-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory over Hilbert College tonight in women's volleyball.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Casandra Thompson's kill,  Abigail Elisofon's service ace and Maria Spinelli's kill combined for Hilbert's earned points  in the opening set loss.
• Jessica Cruz-Jackson's and Maria Spinelli's two kills each along with Nadia Loggans and Abigail Elisofon's block assist fueled the Hawks scoring in the second set.
• Katie Kociszewski's kill, Elisofon's service ace, Spinelli's kill and Thompson's kill sliced the score to 7-11 midway through the third set.  Spinelli and Kociszewski each tacked on another kill, while Elisofon served another ace which kept the Hawks within striking distance (14-18).  But the Pioneers went on a 4-point run before Kayleigh Chudoba's kill counted (15-22).  The hosts put the game away on a service ace for the win.

GAME NOTES

• Spinelli led with six kills, and earned her first double-figure digs game with 11.  Elisofon passed for a team-high seven assists and Jessica Cruz-Jackson added three assists and six digs in defeat.
