FREDONIA, N.Y. – Playing without two senior starters, the Hilbert College women's volleyball team suffered a pair of defeats at the Fredonia State tri-match this afternoon.

FREDONA
- The Hawks stayed with the Blue Devils in the opening set, clinging within three points. Abigail Elisofon's service ace pulled Hilbert within one, 11-10, but the hosts then went on an eight point run to put the set out of reach (25-17)
- Hilbert built an 8-3 lead and stretched it to five points (11-6). Fredonia rallied and knotted the game at 12, but the Hawks jumped back on top, 16-12. The Blue Devils took their first lead at 18-17 but Hilbert went back up by two points. Both teams struggled to connect offensively in down the stretch. Cassandra Thompson's kill lifted Hilbert 23-22, but attack errors gave the hosts the 25-23 come-from-behind win.
- Fredonia jumped out early in the final set and never allowed the Hawks to gain any momentum earning a 25-11 victory.
- Kayla Kuzara led the Hawks with 14 digs, Katie Kociszewski led with three kills, two solo blocks and one block assist while Abigail Elisofon added eight assists, two kills and six digs.
CASE WESTERN
- The Hawks didn't put up a fight against Case Western. As a team, Hilbert combined for eight kills, seven assists and 24 digs falling in 25-4, 25-6 and 25-6 sets.
- Kociszewski earned three kills and one block assist, Kayleigh Chudoba secured six digs as Elisofon led with all seven assists and five digs.

Hilbert returns to AMCC action Tuesday, October 26 when they travel to Alfred State College for a 7pm contest.
