HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College suffered a straight set loss to SUNY Poly tonight, playing their sixth volleyball match in nine days.   

THE BASICS

• Final Score:  SUNY Poly 25, 25, 25   I  Hilbert  9, 11, 13

• Records:   Wildcats 3-7  I  Hilbert 0-9

HOW IT HAPPENED

• SUNY Poly scored points in multiple runs – many fueled by service aces in all three sets. 
• The Hawks continue to struggle with serve receive and passing into the second touch.
• Hilbert made a good run in the third set, when they found themselves down 5-3.  Maria Spinelli's kill shifted the momentum to the white and royal's side and got the crowd involved in the game.  Their energy forced three attack errors by the Wildcats and lifted the Hawks to a 7-5 lead.
• Unfortunately, SUNY Poly regrouped and went on to win the final set/match, 25-13.

GAME NOTES

• Hilbert earned nine points in the game.  Jessica Cruz-Jackson (2) Spinelli (3) led with multiple kills while Ashley Page, Katie Kociszewski, and Abigail Elisofon added one each.  The other Hilbert point was earned off Kociszewski's solo block in the first set of the match.
• Kayleigh Chudoba earned a game-high nine digs tonight.

UP NEXT

The women's volleyball team has a break in action for the weekend.  They return to AMCC play Wednesday, October 6th with a cross-town rival game at Medaille College starting at 7pm in the Sullivan Center.
