AURORA, N.Y. – The Hilbert College men's soccer team attempted the highest number of shots on goal this season but came up empty suffering a 3-nill defeat at Wells College under the lights tonight.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Hawks outshot the Express early in the game, going to intermission with a 7-6 edge in shots.  They forced four Express saves before they suddenly found themselves down by two goals.  Wells connected at 33:40 and then again at 36:23.
•  Hilbert's attacking energy slowed in the second stanza as they finished with only two shots, both on goal, in the final 45 minutes.
• Wells tacked their final score in the game just 92 seconds into the start of the second half.

GAME NOTES

• Hector Harris (3) and Somo Somo (2) were credited with the multiple shots on goal while Stephen Wetherell and David Gullo each tallied one.
• The Hawks finished with seven shots on goal, the most they attempted in eight games this season.
• Logan Peck went the full 90-minutes making six saves.

Hilbert returns to AMCC action next week when they welcome Medaille College to the Varsity Field for a 4:15pm kick October 6th.  This contest will be Medaille's final AMCC soccer game against Hilbert since the Mavericks will be moving to the Empire 8 conference at the start of the next academic year.
