HAMBURG, N.Y. – The second weekend of basketball season has arrived and the men's and women's basketball teams at Hilbert are geared-up for their first tournament of 2019-20.
Both the men's and women's teams are competing in a two-day tournament and they hope to battle in their respective tournament's 3 pm championship game.
Coach
Amy Senefelder is taking her 1-1 women's team to the Mike Daley Memorial Tournament (November 16 and 17) hosted by Nazareth College. The Hawks are set to face local foe Buffalo State College (0-0) in a 7:00 p.m. game Saturday night. They then will then square off against either SUNY Cobleskill (1-0) or Nazareth College (1-0) in the 1:00 p.m. Consolation game or the 3:00 p.m. Championship game in Kidera Gymnasium November 17.

Rob deGrandpre is eager to host his 10th Annual Hawks Against Hunger Tip Off Tournament this weekend (November 15 and 16).
The men's basketball program continues to partner with the Buffalo City Mission in an effort to give support during the holiday season and they ask for your assistance on the sidelines.
Fans can make financial donations at the door and all proceeds collected will be presented to the Buffalo City Mission at a later date. The BCM's goal of feeding 12,270 meals this upcoming month is lofty, but it takes only $1.98 to feed one person one meal during the holiday period.
St. John Fisher College (0-1) will face Cazenovia College (0-0) at 6:00 p.m. Friday and the Hawks (1-0) will host Chatham (1-1) at 8:00 p.m. in the Hafner Recreation Center. The Consolation and Championship games are set for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
Hilbert has played in the title game in seven of the last eight years and claimed the championship twice (2013 and 2015).
There will be a $6/person Admission fee charged at the door. But fans who bring a non-perishable food item will be admitted for $5.
Hilbert College students and staff will receive free admission when showing their school ID.
