ERIE, Pa. - The Hilbert College women's soccer team closed it's 2019 season tonight with a 7-1 loss at Penn State Behrend.
The Lions, 8-1-1, secured the No. 2 seed in the AMCC post-season tournament fighting undefeated PItt-Greensburg (9-0-1) for the top seed.
Macy Kisner scored Hilbert's solo goal late in the game preventing a Lion shutout. She chipped the
Grace Zabawa's pass over the hosts goalie's head to the back of the net in the 80th minute.
Hilbert finished the season at 1-13 and 1-9 in league play.
Behrend built a 4-0 advantage by intermission fueled by a pair of hits in the game's first 3.5 minutes.
Brianna Stegmeier (1-12) was credited with 11 saves (six goals against) in 65:50.
Lauryn Scott covered the frame the final 24 minutes and made five saves (one goal).
Behrend dominated the offensive third of the field, out shoting the Hawks 39-1.
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play-offs begin Saturday, November 2. The top six teams move into post-season with No. 1 and No. 2 advancing directly to the semi-finals November 6. The highest remaining seed will host the AMCC championship game November 9 with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
