STEUBENVILLE, OH – Franciscan University had a steady attack throughout that earned them a 8-0 home victory over the Hilbert College women's soccer team this afternoon.
The Barons came out of the gates strong, putting constant pressure on the Hawks from the starting whistle until the final horn sound.
Franciscan held a 22-1 shot advantage through the first half of play and 47-1 overall, as well as a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Brianna Stegmeier was busy in net, facing a season-high 47 total shots, including 25 shots on goal. The Hawks goalkeeper posted a season-high 17 saves, raising her season saves total (99) to one shy of the century mark.
Grace Zabawa followed up her strong performance last game, which included scoring her first career goal, with being credited with the the lone shot on net for Hilbert.
The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, October 23rd as they travel to Buffalo Cup rival Medaille College for an 8:15pm game under the lights.
