Hawks Basketball Teams Prepare For Tournament Play

HAMBURG, N.Y. – This is a big weekend of basketball for fans of Hilbert College.

Both the men's and women's teams are competing in a two-day tournament and hope to battle in their respective tournament's 3 pm championship game Saturday, November 17.

Coach Amy Senefelder is taking her 2-1 women's team to the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament hosted by St. John Fisher College.  The Hawks are set to face the hosts (1-0) in a 5:30 pm game November 16.  SUNY Poly and Anna Maria are battling in the 7:30 pm nightcap.

The 1pm consolation game on Saturday will prelim the 3pm championship November 17.

The Cardinals are providing Live Stats and streaming Video for fans who cannot travel.   Those links can be found on the Women's Basketball Game Schedule page (link above).

Coach Rob deGrandpre is eager to host his 9th Annual Hawks Against Hunger Tip Off Tournament this weekend.  The men's basketball program continues to partner with the Buffalo City Mission in an effort to give support during the holiday season and they ask for your assistance on the sidelines.

Fans can make financial donations at the door and all proceeds collected will be presented to the Buffalo City Mission at a later date.  The BCM's goal of feeding 12,270 meals this upcoming month is lofty, but it takes only $1.98 to feed one person one meal during the holiday period.

RPI (0-0) will face Utica College (0-0) at 6pm Friday and the Hawks (1-0) will host Waynesburg (0-0) at 8pm in the Hafner Recreation Center.  The consolation and championship games are set for Saturday at 1pm and 3pm.

Hilbert has played in the title game in six of the last seven years and claimed the championship twice (2013 and 2015).

There will be a $6/person Admission fee charged at the door.  But fans who bring a non-perishable food item, will be admitted for $5.

Hilbert College students and staff will receive free admission when showing their school ID.

All games will be streamed in high definition video ($5 tix purchase).  Those links can be found on the Hilbert Men's Basketball Game Schedule page (link above).
