HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College sophomore goalie Brianna Stegmeier was named the HERO Sports Defensive Player of the Week today after collecting 596 votes (60.32%).

The Frontier High School product was credited with 18 saves in the 1-0 loss to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe, La Roche College October 13th.

Stegmeier is ranked #13 in NCAA Division III with 143 Saves, which leads the AMCC, and finds herself ranked #21 with 10.21 SPG. 

#1 in net has started all 14 games for the Hawks, played the full 90 minutes in 10 contests and posted double-digit saves in six games.

The Hilbert women's soccer team returns to action Saturday, October 20 when they battle at Penn State Altoona in a 1pm contest.  The Hawks close their 2018 season next week, Tuesday, October 23 in a 1pm Buffalo Cup and AMCC match in Hamburg against Medaille College.
