HAMBURG, N.Y. - Penn State Behrend kept the offensive pressure on Hilbert College all afternoon as the Lions earned an 8-0 AMCC victory in women's soccer.
The Hawks spent most of the match in their defensive end as the Lions controlled the tempo and pace of the game. Behrend remained undefeated at 7-0 while the Hawks continue to fight for their first win.
There were a few occasions when Hilbert found daylight on offensive, but Behrend broke up plays before a Hawk shot could be attempted.
Erin Buckley and
Lauren Lepovich were credited with both of Hilbert's shots on goal as the Lions held a 29-2 advantage in shots.Â
Brianna Stegmeier took the loss (0-14) after she made seven saves in the first forty-five minutes of action. Â
Mikayla Rix closed the game with five saves while giving up a pair of goals midway through the second half.
The women's soccer team (0-7) will travel to central Pennsylvania this weekend for another AMCC game. Â The Hawks will battle Penn State Altoona (3-3-1) at 1pm on Saturday, October 20.
