BUFFALO, N.Y. – Playing their third game in four days, the Hilbert College women's lacrosse team had their hands full with the Cazenovia Wildcats tonight under the lights at Dobson Field.
The Hawks gave up nine goals in each half as they fell in an 18-5 defeat and moved to 0-4 and 0-2 in NEAC action.
Ashley Repine was impressive between the pipes collecting 15 saves against the 3-3 visitors who earned their first NEAC win.
Nikki Schneider and
Crystle Marion scored a pair of goals each and Emily Galwak earned the Hawks' final goal tonight.
Serena Tecl led the hosts with six ground balls and Schneider trailed with four. They both were credited with two caused turnovers.
Galwak continued to shine during the draw control segment of the game tonight. She added eight more to her season total either winning the draw out-right or collected the toss from Schneider when she stood at midfield.
The Wildcats beat Repine four times in the first ten minutes before Marion reached high above the Wildcat goalie to spin the ball to the back of the net at 19:51.
Nikki Schneider and
Taylor Corts hooked-up for Hilbert's second goal before the half time horn sounded.
Gawlak, Marion and Schneider each notched unassisted goals in the final 30 minutes of play.
Hilbert returns to Dobson Field again for the third time next Wednesday when they face D'Youville April 5. The AMCC contest will begin at 7pm under the lights again
