HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's bowling team returned to their home turf tonight when they hosted cross-town and Division II rival Daemen College at Braymiller's Lanes.
The Hawks were unable to keep pace with the Wildcats who took the first two total pinfall matches 859-650 and 885-594 before they earned the 732-621 Baker format total pinfall sweep.
Alicia Alguire led Hilbert in the first two dual matches with a 181 average. She fired a team-best 190 in the opening 6pm game.
Jennifer Roback followed with a 162.5 average hitting 177 for her day's high match.
Mikayla Rix (118.5),
Elizabeth Pesante (84) and
Alyssa Przywara (76) gave the Hawks a complete five-scoring performance.
In the final match of the night, Daemen stretched to a 111-pin win in the Baker total pinfall match (732-621. The Hawks were able to steal the second set (135-114) from the 13-3 Wildcats.
Hilbert (4-18, 4-3 in AMCC) has a break from competition until Friday, December 8 when they travel to Erie, Pa. for their match against Penn State Behrend who is another upstart, first-year program like the Hawks.
