MARCY, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's soccer team slipped at SUNY Poly tonight in their season opening 3-1 road loss.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead to intermission and padded their lead with two more goals by the 85th minute in the 7pm game under the lights.
Senior
Jennifer Colvin led the Hawks with three shots on goal and her final one resulted in Hilbert's solo goal at 85:57.
Jenna Castricone was credited with nine saves in the loss.
Shannon Rogers chipped-in a pair of shots on goal right after the start of the second half. Freshman
Emily Gawlak first collegiate shot in the 2nd minute turned out to be the only other shot on goal for Hilbert.
Of the 15 SUNY Poly shots, 12 were on goal which kept Castricone on her toes all ninety minutes.
Hilbert has a short recovery period tonight as they return to the turf tomorrow morning (12 noon) to face Cazenovia College on day two of the SUNY Poly Classic.
