Nikki Schneider and
Marisa Huffman each netted a goal for the Hilbert College women's lacrosse team in their night game at Houghton College.
The Hawks found themselves in a big hole by intermission but battled in a more competitive second half winning on the stat sheet by a 2-1 goal margin.
Allison Austin was credited with another double-digit save game with 12 in the sixty-minute contest.
Houghton held an 11-7 advantage in draw controls with Brooklynn Gormel and Schneider winning two each for the Hawks.
Nickee Thibault,
Kelly Mandell and Huffman scooped on draw control for Hilbert.
Harlie Decker and Gormel collected three ground balls each as Hilbert trailed the Highlanders 20-12 in ground balls.
Houghton (3-7) had four multiple-goal scorers led by Jennifer Zacchigna's four markers.
The Hawks (0-7) return to action when they travel to Hiram College on Saturday, April 9. That game is questionable because of the weather forecasted for the Ohio campus.
