HAMBURG, N.Y. – Nikki Schneider's five goals led the Hilbert College women's lacrosse team in their 13-10 defeat to Wells College (2-7) this afternoon in Hamburg.

The Hawks (0-8) carried a 6-4 lead through the first 30 minutes of action and led the rest of the way until the Express forced their first tie, 8-8, in the game at 16:21. 

Kelly Mandell broke the tie off an assist from Brooklyn Gormel who sprinted the field for the open look.

Well's Mackenzie Maloney scored to knot the game again at 9's before Schneider scored her final goal  at 9:59 to give Hilbert 10 goals on the day.

Maloney scored her seventh marker (37th on the year) and assisted on the game winning goal as the Express took their first lead.  Wells added two more tallies before the final horn for the win.

Olivia Tom scored twice for the Hawks and Gormel assisted three times today.

Nickee Thibault finished with four ground balls and Gormel led the Hawks with four draw controls.

Wells managed the field with 32 ground balls and doubled-up their shots on the Hawks.

Hilbert returns to action this weekend when they host Franciscan University April 16 in a 3:30 pm start.  The Hawks will honor their seniors (Olivia Tom, Paige Chatt, Harlie Decker and Kelly Mandell) prior to the start of the contest.
