ALFRED, N.Y. –
Eric Flores hot bat led the Hilbert College baseball team to 6-5 non-conference victory over Alfred State this afternoon.
The Hawks improved to 6-12 on the season and dropped the Pioneers to 2-18.

Michael Goodberry earned his first collegiate victory and senior
Andrew Cartaginese earned his third career save, tying the programs All-Time record.
Flores went 3-for-4 with a 2 RBI double in the second inning to lift the Hawks to an early 2-0 lead.
A-State matched the scoring effort in the bottom of the third before Hilbert jumped ahead 3-2 thanks to
Bradley Perrin's single to the short stop in the 6th.
The hosts posted two runs on the board in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 lead but Flores poked a hit to the left field adding another run and forcing another tie 4-4.
Alfred State regained a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth but didn't hold that long.

Kevin Moore reached on a fielder's choice and
Paul Wujek sprinted home for the winning run.
Cartaginese closed the game with three quick outs for the road win.
Christopher Newman went 6.1 innings to open the game and struck out five batters while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.
Moore and
Sal Carroccia each finished with two hits while Flores (3RBI) as well as Bonafede, Moore and Perrin collected RBIs.
Hilbert continues on their road trip tonight as they travel to Cresson, Pa to play Mount Aloysius College tomorrow in an AMCC double header beginning at 1pm.
