CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's lacrosse team found their shooting touch late in the game as they were beat 18-3 to Cazenovia College this afternoon.
Nikki Schneider scored twice and
Brooklyn Gormel found the back of the net once in the game's final minutes of the non-conference game.
Cazenovia dominated play outshooting the Hawks 39-8.
Allison Austin was credited with 15 saves in sixty-minutes of action between the pipes.
The Hawks forced 14 Wildcat turnovers and scooped 12 groundballs.
Melissa Goodman was credited with a team-high three ground balls and
Nikki Schneider led with a pair of caused turnovers on defense.
Besides scoring the final goal of the game at 2:39,
Brooklyn Gormel won four of the Hawks' eight draw controls and attempted two free position shots, scoring on one.
Nikki Schneider netted her one free position shot to put the visitors on the score board late in the game and added an unassisted marker at 6:00.
After a full week of rest, the women's lacrosse team returns to action Thursday, April 7 at Houghton College (7p) and Saturday, April 9 at Hiram College (4p).
