KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Junior
Nikki Schneider scored twice for Hilbert as the women's lacrosse team faced the shot happy Keuka College Wolves.
Keuka claimed a 20-2 victory over the visiting Hawks after un-leasing a barrage of shots on frame. Rookie
Allison Austin collected 11 saves in goal after facing 42 shots today. It was her second double-digit save performance this season as Hilbert moved to 0-4.
Keuka (2-2) jumped ahead 8-1 after the first half and then tacked on 12 more second-half markers. The Hawks had a tough time the final period as they were credited with one solo shot which turned into the second goal of the day.
Hilbert won 9 of the 24 draw controls with
Brooklyn Gormel and
Harlie Decker leading the way with three and two, respectively.
Gormel and
Melissa Goodman were each tagged with causing two of the Wolves turnovers. Gormel led the defensive effort with six of the Hawks' 23 ground balls.
Schneider turned both of her shots into points but it was
Marisa Huffman who was able to attempt a team-high three shots.
The Hawks return to action March 22 when they host Loras College in a 4pm game at D'Youville's Dobson Field.
