Big Wednesday Night For the Hawks

HAMBURG, N.Y. - Both the men's and women's basketball teams will celebrate Senior Night prior to their tip-off February 17th while the men's volleyball team returns to North Buffalo for NEAC play.

The Hawks volleyball team (5-6, 2-2 NEAC) will resume league play at 7pm Wednesday night when they head back to the Sullivan Center and battle Medaille College for the second time this season.

Earlier, Hilbert faced the Mavericks in a non-conference match on day two of the Golden Flyer Invitational hosted by #4 Nazareth College.  Medaille, now receiving votes for the AVCA Top 15, beat the Hawks in straight sets February 6th.  Brett Kane led the charge with 10 kills and two service aces (25-14, 25-23, 25-15).

Fans who want to follow the game on-line, have a choice of free live stats or pay per view video.

Basketball fans can view the men's and women's double header in the Hafner in person or via free steaming video. men's link   women's link

The #2 Hilbert men (19-4,13-3) host Penn State Behrend (20-2, 14-2) at 6pm as the AMCC Game of The Week.

With a Hilbert win, the Hawks improve their chances of finishing as the top seed in the AMCC play-offs.  If Behrend sweeps the Hawks Wednesday, the Lions would claim the regular season league title and the right to host the championship weekend February 27 and 28.

The #7 Hilbert women (10-13, 6-10) play host to #3 Behrend Lions (13-10,11-5) at 8pm.  Behrend has secured a play-off spot while the Hawks have their backs against the wall and must win this game.  La Roche College has wrapped up the regular season title and will host the final four week end again for the sixth straight year.

The men's basketball team will honor five of their players (Ryan Bradt, Nehemiah Kornegay, Xavier Major, Jerame Owens and Sean Weisansal) as well as Prosper Jeanphilippe, their diligent manager for the last four years.

The women's basketball team will honor both Paige Chatt and Wyann Jackson for their contributions on the court and Crystal Hailey for her help on the sidelines.

Where ever you go, wear Royal and White and Be Loud, Be Proud and Be Positive!
