ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend connected twice from above their shoulders to claim a 4-0 AMCC victory over Hilbert in men's soccer this afternoon. Behrend improved to 2-0 in league standings while the Hawks fall to 0-2.
Behrend's defense eliminated the Hawks offense, as Hilbert went 90 minutes without taking a single shot. The Lions dominated the pace of the game taking 31 shots (10 on frame) and 20 corner kicks while score a pair of goals each half.
Ryan Valentine was credited with six saves, five in the second half when Behrend (8-1-1) really put the pressure on and took 20 shots.
The Hawks (1-7) return to Hamburg for their first AMCC game. Hilbert College is hosting is second annual TRUE BLUE / Homecoming weekend when Mount Aloysius College travels to Hamburg October 3.
