HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College played through breezy then wet second-half conditions as the Hawks slipped 2-0 in men's soccer to Mount Aloysius College today in AMCC action.
The Mounties found the back of the net once each half and held on for their 6th win to stay undefeated at 3-0 in league play. Hilbert, held score-less in the last three matches, fell to 1-8 and 0-3 AMCC.
In an evenly played game, Mount Aloysius got one more shot off than Hilbert with six credited on frame. The Hawks took 16 shots, five on goal and forced the Mounties' goalie into five saves.
Ryan Valentine was credited with four saves in 90 minutes of action.
Jonathan Davison,
Matthew Barth and
Travis Hicks found three shots each with
Garrett Rehner connecting twice on frame to lead Hilbert.
The Hawks return to Hamburg midweek when they host D'Youville College October 7 with a 2:00 pm start.
