BUFFALO, N.Y. – Stephanie Glaza collected 12 saves today, but the Houghton College Highlanders were too potent on offense as the Hawks slipped in a rainy 17-2 loss today at the Nichol's School turfed field. 

Houghton improved to 5-5 while Hilbert continues to search for their first victory of the season.

Midway through the first half, Houghton held an 8-0 lead before Nikki Schneider scored an unassisted goal at 15:28.  The Hawks gave up four more goals over the next eight minutes to fall behind 12-1.

Then  at 4:05 remaining, Chantelle Mikolajczak set up Megan Smith for the royal and white's final goal of the day.

Hilbert limited Houghton to three second-half goals for the 17-2 final.

Houghton held advantages in all statistical categories except for saves.

Jordan Botsford, Paige Chatt and Megan Smith each won two of the game's 21 draw controls.  Stephanie Glaza led Hilbert with five ground balls, many loose bouncers around the circle.  Olivia Tom led the field players with four ground balls. 

Megan Smith and Jordan Botsford combined for eight of Hilbert's 13 shots.

The Hawks return to the road this weekend when they travel to Franciscan University on April 11.
