HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Keuka College women's lacrosse team did not waste time displaying their scoring prowess as they scored six early goals to propel them to their twelfth victory in 14 games. The Hawks were limited on their offensive production as they fell 21-6 to the undefeated NEAC leaders.
Senior
Chantelle Mikolajczak scored twice off free position shots and
Megan Smith added two tallies in the open field.
Chelsea Adamski and
Nikki Schneider were the two other Hawks to find the back of the net this afternoon both on free position shots.
Hilbert's
Stephanie Glaza, in only her second season of competition, recorded 10 saves on the day which pushed her over the 100-save mark for the season as the Hawks' primary goalie.
Keuka outshot the Hawks 38-8 and picked up 17 more ground balls than the hosts. The Wolfpacks pressure on defense contributed to 28 Hilbert turnovers.
The bright spot on the day was Hilbert's conversion off free-position shots as they hit from the restart 4 of 5 times.
Keuka built a 13-3 lead by intermission and added eight more goals in the second half.
Hilbert got on the board first with a tally by Smith who was feed from Mikolajczak at 29:36. Adamski notched her goal at 14:28 and Smith closed the first half scoring with just under two minutes left.
Schneider and Mikolajczak scored all three second half goals from the 8 meter line in the final thirty-minutes of play.
