HAMBURG, N.Y. –
Ashley Viengmay and
Megan Smith scored the two Hawks goals as Hilbert suffered a 19-2 loss to Morrisville State today in women's lacrosse.
Prior to the start of the game, the program, under first year head coach Kate Faas' leadership honored the five seniors who appear in the photo with their families.
Morrisville controlled the pace of the game from start to finish as they prepared for their upcoming NEAC championship weekend.
The Mustangs attacked the goal often and outshot the Hawks 19-2 in the first half, with all 19 shots on frame. Hilbert's defense picked up their effort in the second half and limited the visitors to only 8 shots, just three more than Hilbert.
Hilbert settled down in the final thirty minutes cutting their turnovers almost in half and improving their ball possession time with more clears.

Megan Smith were credited with two shots on goal each with the final random shot off the stick head of goal-scorer Viengmay.
Ashley Iwanenko led the Hawks on defense with a team-high two ground balls (8 as a team) and she also finished with two (of the team's three) caused turnovers.
Hilbert's seven draw control victories were spread out among seven different players.
Meghan Stewart took the loss between the pipes after giving up 14 first half goals.
Stephanie Glaza closed the game with five goals against and one save.
