ALFRED, N.Y. – Alfred University jumped out to a quick lead early in the first half and coasted to a 15-6 home field victory over Hilbert College in women's lacrosse today.
Nikki Schneider posted two second-half goals to lead the five Hawk scorers against the Saxons who improved to 1-4 after the win.
Alfred tallied their first goal just over one minute into the game and added a point almost every minute there-after until
Chelsea Adamski netted the Hawks' first goal at 20:45. The Saxons posted five more scores before
Marisa Huffman put Hilbert on the board for the second time prior to half time.
After the 10-minute break, and trailing 12-2, Hilbert turned up their offensive production and held Alfred in check the second half.
Hilbert scored four unassisted goals while limiting the Saxons to three hits.

Nikki Schneider connected twice.
While Alfred attempted 21 first-half shots, Hilbert held them to only 12 second-half shots.
Stephanie Glaza was tough in goal stopping 13 shots on the day.
Alfred was led by two players who found the back of the net five times each. The Saxons won 26 of the games 23 draw controls and connected on 3 of 4 free position shots awarded.
Hilbert (0-6) has a few days off before their next game on April 8 against Houghton College. The game will be played at Nichols School in North Buffalo at 4pm.
