ERIE, Pa. - Tonight's AMCC match was all about runs and riding momentum. Undefeated in league play, Penn State Behrend improved to 13-11 overall with their sweep over Hilbert College in women's volleyball.

Morgan Ott passed for 12 assists and was the only other Hawk who finished with a positive hitting percentage. Kamalei Lene and Ashley Viengmay led the royal and white with nine and eight digs respectively.

Hilbert opened the first set with a 3-1 lead before the Lions went on an 8-0 run and forced a Hilbert time out. Behrend took offbut the Hawks earned a few points to break up the runs before the hosts won 25-8.

Hilbert again, opened the second set with a 3-1 advantage before they found themselves in a 5-5 tie. Each team traded points until Behrend built a 3-point lead. The Hawks forced a few more knotted scores (11, 12, 15, 16) until the Lions inherited 3 of 4 points by Hilbert's hitting/passing errors (24-18).

Each team traded points early in the final set. Behrend earned six-straight points to take a 12-4 lead and never looked back.

Up next, the Hawks head to the College of Brockport for their two-day, four game invitational tournament October 16 and 17. Hilbert (0-18) is set to square off against the hosts for the second time this season (4pm) and then close Friday night with a 6pm game against Alfred University. The Hawks return the next afternoon for a 1pm match against SUNY Potsdam and 3pm contest against St. John Fisher on Saturday.

With a full complement of volleyball games and other additional home events at Brockport, the college hopes everything goes well so they can stream live stats and video!
