HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Hilbert College men's basketball team remained undefeated today after their 77-59 victory against visiting against Franciscan University in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match-up.

Jordan Kumro's 16 second-half points pushed Hilbert to a 6-0 overall record. Junior
Jerame Owens posted his second consecutive double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds (team-high three steals) and Sean Weisasnsal chipped in 16 points going 6-for-8 from the field. Senior
Trevor Stark continues to lead the nation as he finished with eight assists feeding the sharpshooters tonight who shot a combined 64% from the floor.

Ryan Brewster gave a solid 19 minutes of action and his obvious presence in the paint produced seven rebounds, three assists and six points.
Keoni Sablan led Franciscan (2-5, 0-3AMCC) with 20 points and JohnPaul Dombrowski gave the visitors 13 points and nine rebounds battling in the lane.
Franciscan opened the game making the first bucket forty-seconds after the tip. Down 3-0,
Xavier Major led the charge connecting for 4 of the team's next seven points before the Baron's answered. Both teams traded baskets prior to 8-0 Hilbert run fueled behind
Ryan Brewster's traditional three-point play,
Malique McCoy's contested 3-pointer and Weisansal's lay-up.
A few missed shots and three consecutive turnovers allowed the Baron's to get right back in by 5:40 only down by one point (20-19). Hilbert stepped up their defensive pressure and took a 32-23 lead by the break.
Hilbert continued to force the pace and improved their offensive production the second half. At 16:21
Jordan Kumro knocked down his 1st second-half three-pointer to stretch the Hawks lead to 43-27.
About five minutes later, the Barons cut the difference to six (46-40) but
Jordan Kumro shut the door on a comeback when he ripped the bottom of the net with back-to-back long balls to build a double-digit lead again.
Kumro lead all scorers with 21 points making eight of 12 attempts from the floor and sinking 5-of-8 beyond the arc.
Hilbert increased their shooting percentage the second half to finish at 50.8% for the game. They connected on 10 of 12 free throw attempts while Franciscan struggled at the line, hitting only 8 of 18. Both teams grabbed 10 offensive rebounds but the Hawks collected 32 defensive rebounds off the visitor's missed shots.
After one more day of final exams, the men's basketball team returns to action Monday, December 15 at D'Youville College for an 8pm tip-off.
