Waller's Late Game Goal Leads to 2-2 Tie

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Hilbert College women's soccer team fought back against Penn State Altoona and finished with a 2-2 tie in and AMCC match-up. The Hawks found themselves trailing twice in the game and both times were able to bounce back. Imarie Waller's goal with two minutes and ten seconds left in regulation time forced the overtime periods.

Hilbert fell behind 1-0 in the twenty-second minute of the game. Altoona's Katy Hartigan fired the ball into the net off of a Hilbert save. Hilbert continued to battle and at 36:12, Jennifer Colvin scored on a header from Jackie Morgan's great corner kick placement. The two teams went into the half with the score knotted 1-1.

Altoona, again, was able to get on the board early in the second half as Shoshana Mahoney took a turn-around shot past the Hilbert defender. The game looked out of reach for the Hawks until a deflection off of goalkeeper Mackenzie Strubhar led to a goal by Imarie Waller at the 87:50 mark.

Neither team was able to score in the two overtime periods, causing the game to end in a 2-2 tie.

Grace Adams came up huge for the Hawks, recording 14 saves over the 110 minute game. Altoona's Strubhar saved five shots on goal.

Colvin led the Hawks with five shots, three on goal. Jenna Castricone had two shots, one on goal. Twelve players from Penn State Altoona recorded a shot on the day.

The Hawks (4-10-1, 1-6-1) finish their regular season this Tuesday, October 28th against AMCC league-leader Pitt-Bradford in Bradford, PA.
