CRESSON, PA – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team started off the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference portion of their schedule in an exciting way. The Hawks were 3-1 match victors over Mount Aloysius and La Roche Colleges September 28.

Hilbert started slowly in each match, losing the opening set before they stormed back to claim three straight. Head coach Amanda Logue felt that her "team's hard work and focus paid off in the end. Both opponents were very good and the matches could have gone either way."

The Hawks faced Mount Aloysius in a 10am match and started with a 25-16 loss. Hilbert was able to pull the second set 25-18 before they dominated the third (25-13). In the match set, the Hawks held on for a 25-21 win.

After a brief warm-up period for La Roche, Hilbert took the court for their second game of the morning at 12pm. Again, the opposing team jumped on Hilbert (25-19) before the Hawks put together three straight (25-19, 25-15, 25-21) wins.

Today's cross-over matches mirror last season's opening weekend with Hilbert beating both Mount Aloysius and La Roche in AMCC play.

Hilbert has a chance to extend their streak in the home match against D'Youville College October 2 at 7pm.
