Taylor Corts led the women’s basketball team to a pair of wins last week and earned her first Hawk of the Week honor at the start of her senior campaign.

Corts, a 5-10 guard from Ontario, NY (Wayne) averaged 24 points and eight rebounds per game in Hilbert’s victories over Oswego (62-61) and SUNY Cobleskill (70-63) along with the loss to Buffalo State (60-59).  She finished the week hitting 44-percent from the floor, 38-percent beyond the arc and 92-percent at the foul line in 39-minutes per game.

Corts knocked in 26 points against Buffalo State, closed the weekend with 24 against SUNY Cobleskill after opening the week with 22 points in the win over Oswego State.

Corts was named to the Mike Daley Memorial All-Tournament Team after guiding the Hawks to a third place finish November 17.

Corts is 25 points away from breaking 1,000 in her four-year career at Hilbert.
