Edward Mathias opened his third year of action on the lacrosse field with a bang and earned his first-ever Hawk of the Week honor.

The 5-11 Attack led the lacrosse team to a 14-5 victory over Elmira College March 11.  The St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute native collected eight points, caused one turnover and grabbed three ground balls to help the Hawks even their season record at 1-1.

Mathias picked up two assists on Hilbert’s first three goals in the opening quarter and added one more assist in the second as the Hawks carried a 5-1 lead into intermission.  He netted his first marker in the 3rd quarter and had a hand in four of his team’s final five goals in the 4th.
