Junior Hunter Martineau’s impressive single-game effort lifted him to his 12th career Hawk of the Week honor, collecting five this winter season.
He also was named the AMCC Player of the Week.
The 5-11 junior point guard led the Hawks in their solo game last week, when he earned his first career Triple Double by the end of regulation. Martineau closed each half drilling a long distance shot beyond the arc, with his second buzzer-beater sending the game into overtime.
The Orlando native finished the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as Hilbert slipped to cross-town rival Medaille College 99-94 in OT. Hilbert’s regularly scheduled Saturday’s game was postponed, thus creating a solo date of competition for league consideration.
Through ten AMCC games, Martineau is (ranked) in all the major categories averaging 35.6 minutes (#2), 14.3 points (#8), 6.5 rebounds (#9), 6.2 assists (#2), 2.6 steals (#1) per AMCC game.
Martineau is now one of only 11 Division III men’s basketball players who have achieved a triple double this 2018-19 season.
