Morgan McNeill earned her first Hawk Of the Week honor after she quarterbacked the softball team from behind the plate last week.

The freshman catcher called most of the pitches as the Hawks earned their first series sweep of the season over Franciscan University (6-0, 10-1).  The Hawks dropped a close one to Medaille (8-7) after they suffered an opening-week loss 9-1 to the Mavericks.

The Wellsville native went 5-for-13 with a .385 batting average.  She knocked in 4 RBIs and scored four runs while stealing three bases.

In the Medaille series, McNeill went 4-for-6 picking up a pair of RBIs and scoring two runs.  Over the weekend against Franciscan, she finished with only one hit, but earned two RBI’s and stole home for one of her two runs.
