Michael Carbery accepted a new role within the Athletics Department when he was named an Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations in August 2025.

Carbery will oversee all event and game operations while continuing to serving as our Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach (since 2018) and NCAA Compliance Coordinator, a role he assumed in 2022.

Carbery manages all student-athlete eligibility matters from initial eligibility, to day-to-day operations, as well as ongoing eligibility.  He is the point person in the department for coaches and student-athletes with regards to ongoing NCAA legislation and transfer concerns.

Previously, Carbery served as an assistant athletic director and head men’s lacrosse coach at Medaille College from 1999 until September 2014.  As an administrator, Carbery wore almost every hat in the Mavericks’ athletic department.  His spent a majority of his time as the sports information director but also served as the NCAA compliance officer and ran the department’s academic monitoring and support program in addition to serving as an event and equipment manager.
