Hilbert College Athletics

Rob deGrandpre (da-GRAUND-pray) enters his 22nd year as an athletic administrator and 14th as an assistant athletic director at Hilbert College during the 2023-24 academic year.

In the summer of 2009, deGrandpre accepted the challenge of leading the department’s athletic recruiting efforts when he received the new title of Assistant Athletic Director. He coordinates the annual Athletic Awards Reception and is primarily responsible for the coordination of all athletic recruiting efforts for the department cooperatively working with Admissions, as well as department heads and faculty to recruit outstanding student-athlete to Hilbert College and its athletics program. 

His association with Hilbert began in 2002 when he joined the department as a full-time sports information director and men’s basketball head coach. In 2008, deGrandpre shifted gears, relinquishing the SID responsibilities and moved into a new role as the athletic facilities coordinator. The Plattsburgh, NY native  was responsible for complete travel arrangements for the 11 varsity teams and organized the end of the year Athletics Award and Sports Hall of Fame banquet. deGrandpre continues to serve as the men’s basketball coach at Hilbert.

deGrandpre graduated from Brockport State with a degree in physical education and went on to earn his Master's Degree in Athletic Administration also from Brockport State in 2005.
